Project OwnerNew Hope Coal Australia

New Acland Coal Pty Ltd currently operates the existing New Acland open cut coal mine which is situated north-northwest of the Oakey Township in southeast Queenslands Darling Downs region.

The Mine produces 5.2 million tonnes per annum and has reserves that will allow current operations to continue until approximately 2017. The New Acland Coal Mine Stage 3 Project (NAC3) will extend the Mines operating life to approximately 2029 with approval for an annual output up to 7.5 million tonnes per annum. First phase of works will include:

Train Load-out and Rail spur and loop; and

Civil works and offsite infrastructure.

The first work package is anticipated to be released in Q3 2015. Subject to Mining Lease approval, construction is expected to commence in Q3 2016.

Process to be followed:

Work packages over $1m will be posted on ICN Gateway;

Prospective contractors register their interest with ICN to receive an Expression of Interest (EOI) package;

ICN assess and recommend initial shortlist for review by New Hope Group;

New Hope Group validate and evaluate the EOI submissions initially shortlisted by ICN; and

New Hope Group finalise a shortlist of businesses to be included in the next steps of the procurement process (a formal tender for example) for that package.

Pre-qualification standards and demonstrated capability and capacity to deliver the services required by NAC3 will be key criteria in this process.

It should be noted inclusion in the EOI process does not guarantee inclusion in the subsequent steps in the procurement process.

NACO3-013 Pumps and Pipeline Construction – 19.10.2016
