The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) has announced shortlisted projects under its $100 million competitive funding round for large-scale solar photovoltaic (PV).
From the 22 shortlisted projects, eight are located in NSW – totalling 242 megawatts of capacity and worth an estimated $500 million of investment for the State.
The Renewable Energy Advocate and NSW Industry Investment teams have been working closely with the project developers to help them navigate planning processes, network connections and leverage Commonwealth funding.
Neoen, the developer of three shortlisted projects in Griffith, Dubbo and Parkes, sent this complimentary feedback about the Department’s services:
“The help provided to Neoen by the Department of Industry to date has been very positive and has certainly contributed to strengthen Neoen’s engagement on the NSW solar market. We look forward to making more progress with our projects and strongly value the department’s support notably in respect to planning or connection matters.” Frank Woitiez, Managing Director, Neoen Australia.
The shortlisted projects have until 15 June 2016 to make full applications to ARENA for funding with a maximum of $30 million available per project.
