New Century Resources has just announced that the first zinc concentrate shipment is now underway from the restart of operations at Century.
The activities represent a major milestone for the Australian-based metals company, just 15 months after listing New Century Resources on the ASX.
Commenting on the completion of the first transhipment of concentrate to the export vessel, New Century Resources Managing Director Patrick Walta said that this milestone represents an incredible achievement by the entire New Century team.
“To start shipping concentrate just 15 months after listing is a testament to the strong dedication and culture within the company. The entire team should be proud of their role in the achievements of the business to date, which is creating a strong platform for continued growth at Century and beyond,” he said.
The first shipment will consist of 10,000 tonnes zinc concentrate, delivered on schedule and within contract specifications to one of the largest smelters in China.
This first shipment has also allowed the company to complete another forward sale of 10,000 tonnes of zinc concentrate, generating a further A$15.3 million in revenue.
Through the Century Mine in Queensland, New Century Resources aims to be one of the world’s top 10 zinc producers. As part of the operations, the company has refurbished and upgraded the mine’s existing world-class infrastructure including a large scale multi-train flotation plant, 700-person camp, private airport, grid power connection, 304-kilometre slurry pipeline, port facility and concentrate transhipment vessel.
