Chesser Resources Limited has received first assay results from a recently completed Phase 2 Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling program at the Diamba Sud project in Senegal.
Covering 53.2 square kilometres over the gold-bearing Kédougou-Kéniéba Inlier, Diamba Sud is the company’s flagship project. It consists of two blocks referred to as DS1 in the north and DS2 in the south.
The Phase 1 drilling program completed earlier in 2019 successfully intersected significant gold mineralisation in fresh rock at all four target areas.
The Phase 2 Drilling program within DS1 was completed in mid-July, with a total of 26 RC holes drilled for 2,873 metres.
The program focused on the Northern Arc and Western Flank Targets, which were two of the four high priority targets previously identified from reconnaissance geochemical auger drilling.
The drilling results have confirmed a high-grade gold discovery at Line A within the Northern Arc Target and multiple zones of significant gold mineralisation were intersected.
Chesser advised that Northern Arc Target exhibit characteristics similar to other large gold systems in the region, including the nearby world-class Gounkoto/Loulo (5.5/12.5Moz) and Fekola (7.6Moz) deposits.
Managing Director and CEO of Chesser Resources, Mike Brown, said the excellent drill results confirm a high-grade gold discovery at the Northern Arc Target.
“While there has been limited wide-spaced drilling to date, planning is underway for a program of detailed follow-up drilling immediately following the wet season.”
“We look forward to reporting the remaining assay results from this already highly successful program and updating the market on our future plans,” he said.
