Wireless miners caplamp for underground hardrock mines
Roobuck has developed the RN4E-WR1 Cordless Wireless Tracking Caplamp, which forms a centrepiece technology as part of the new OVERwatch Wi-Fi Tracking and Signalling Platform for Underground Hardrock Mines.
It was developed in collaboration with Rio Tinto Innovation Team (Diamond & Copper Mines Division) and purpose-designed for underground hardrock mines, tunnelling, construction and other applications without any potentially explosive atmosphere.
The Caplamp has three LEDs. The Main LED, in the middle of the reflector, is used for both normal and high-beam illumination and two Auxiliary LEDs located on each side of the Main LED, plus the Main LED in low beam operates for extended periods of time during an emergency.
The Caplamp features superior illumination, weighs only 180gms. The beam angle can be adjusted to point wherever you see, near or far, to read and write, repair equipment or check the roof of a mine (spotting), significantly reducing dead corners.
The Caplamp is Cisco CCX compliant and operates in a WAVE Vehicular Network and a Wi-Fi network solution for the purposes of personnel safety, productivity monitoring and emergency management.
The system comes with a comprehensive end-to-end tracking and management software that can be deployed on-site or the option of an API (Application Program Interface) to interface to 3rd party management systems.
