Versatility the key to global presence
Experienced Australian gas detection manufacturer GasTech Australia has made its first of many strategically planned moves into the global gas detection market with the release of its newest product, the D-Guard2.
GasTech Australia has pushed industry boundaries by providing intrinsically safe loop powered combustible infra-red detection. This allows sites to greatly reduce power consumption across control platforms and massively reduce installation costs as explosion proof cabling is not required.
The development of this fixed gas detector is focused on providing one piece of equipment for all applications around site with successful achievement of IECEx Certifications; Group I, Group IIB, Group IIC and ATEX M1 which give access to the tightly held underground coal mining market.
The true versatility of the D-Guard2 platform is proven by its ability to not only support infra-red sensors but hundreds of toxic and O2 sensors, including a long life 5 year Oxygen cell and adjustable ranges for all sensors.
Damon Gillies, Managing Director of Beaufox Industries was directly involved in helping achieve their instrument housing goals setting a new global standard of IP68; “Having worked with GasTech for many years we were thrilled to accept the new challenge brought to us which saw investigation into new materials and manufacturing techniques. The growth opportunity this has given our own business is very exciting.”
GasTech has recently made significant investment into its infrastructure by doubling the size of its research and development department and creation of its own internal marketing team. With global resource market woes it’s refreshing to see innovation being invested into by a company starting to push around the bigger players which ultimately sees the end user and our own safety win.
