Manitowoc extends distribution deal with TRT Australia
In July 2019, Manitowoc Cranes renewed their distribution deal with TRT Australia covering Manitowoc and Grove cranes in Queensland, extending the agreement already in place, with a new long-term deal.
In commenting on the exciting news, TRT’s Chief Operating Officer, Lawrence Baker, said that the commitment from Manitowoc to their growing Australian operations is in line with TRT’s strategic growth plans and reaffirms its commitment to TRT’s long term presence both in Queensland and Australia as a whole.
“Earlier this year we also appointed Stephen Dance to the position of Country Manager to focus on the value we deliver to our Australian customers.”
Manitowoc’s Vice President & General Manager for Australia and New Zealand, John Stewart, confirmed that TRT has been partners with Manitowoc and Grove since 1972 and are one of the longest and strongest Manitowoc distributors internationally.
“TRT’s commitment to supporting Queensland customers has been outstanding and I am continually receiving positive feedback from both new and existing Manitowoc owners. As TRT continues to grow and invest in Queensland, their commitment to Manitowoc is clear and I can confirm our long term commitment to them. We are very excited about the future in Queensland and the strong relationship we have with TRT Australia,” Stewart said.
TRT has manufactured trailers and Traction Air® CTI (Central Tyre Inflation) systems for the Australian market for over 25 years.
In 2016, TRT became the distributor for Manitowoc and Grove cranes in Queensland, moving to their current Murarrie, Brisbane location, a site previously occupied by Manitowoc. At this time, TRT began manufacture and distribution of their own crane the TIDD PC25, a 25t articulating crane.
It was at the same time TRT purchased B&N Cranes Pty Ltd, a well-established Brisbane crane service and repair specialist.
This enabled TRT to support Manitowoc and Grove products locally and offer crane customer services like Manitowoc Crane Care® remote field service and 24/7 support.
In 2018, TRT expanded the facilities on the Murarrie site, adding another 600m2, fully covered workshop, including a 10t gantry crane and service facilities for cranes, general equipment and heavy haul trailers, and increasing the overall capacity of the warehouse facilities.
Country Manager for TRT Australia, Stephen Dance, maintains: “We now have 24 fully trained technicians in the field and on-site, six are factory trained specialist Manitowoc Grove technicians, based at Murarrie and we have a full parts and service back up 24/7.”
Dance adds that TRT is committed to its Queensland customers for the long haul.
“As the mining industry and infrastructure projects continue to grow from strength to strength across Queensland, we have invested in a number of new cranes to keep in stock at our Brisbane site, crawlers, all terrain cranes and the latest TIDD PC28 articulated cranes.”
“We know that business can’t wait when customers need equipment, so we are here ready to deliver.”
