Auto-mate is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Siddoway as VP Engineering for Auto-mate based at their Perth office.
Over the last 25 years, Mark has built considerable experience in engineering in a range of industries, from defence to automotive and mining.
Mark is a qualified Functional Safety Engineer, and brings with him over 6 years’ experience in functional safety for autonomous haulage and other autonomous mining systems.
Mark has previously worked at, and with, major mining companies such as BHP, FMG and Rio Tinto, in a range of automation-related roles including compliance assurance and the deployment and management of onsite autonomous technologies.
He has managed the conversion of manual mining assets to autonomous operation, and worked with engineers, technicians and operational staff to optimise autonomous system safety and productivity. He developed Australia’s first functional safety programme for autonomous mining operations.
“Many in the industry are already aware of the benefits of autonomy in mining,” said Auto-mate CEO, Daniel Poller, “however, there are a range of operations that need to be managed safely to ensure every customer gets the most value from their automation solution. This is where Mark’s experience is invaluable.”
Mark’s deep understanding of the safety and design standards for autonomous systems, and of the Code of Practice for Safe Mobile Autonomous Mining in WA will support Auto-mate’s assurance of excellence in the delivery of autonomy solutions.
