Austmine’s first Smart Mining Networking Event in Perth for 2019 will take place on 19th February, and will be welcoming Michael Place, Unit Manager of Projects at Granny Smith for Gold Fields Australia.
As a mining engineer and manager, Michael has worked in precious and base metals as a consultant, contractor and in an owner-operator environment, both in Australia and internationally.
Michael’s current role involves leading the Granny Smith Gold Mine Projects Department which includes providing input into the strategic direction for the projects functions at the mine site and within the Australasian region. Michael is also responsible for providing technology solutions and ensuring that delivered projects are capital effective and have a high level of future integration.
At this event, Michael will provide his insights on achieving operational excellence through leadership. Michael will also discuss the priorities for Granny Smith Gold Mine projects over the next 12 months, and will explore the technologies and innovations he believes will create step changes for their operations.
