Moneghetti Minerals Limited (Moneghetti Minerals or the Company) has announced the appointment of Ms Karina Bader as independent non-executive Chair of the Company effective from today and Ms Karen Lloyd as nonexecutive Technical Director effective from 19 August 2020.
Established in February 2020, Moneghetti Minerals is a gold exploration and development company, focused on high-grade opportunities in first world countries – primarily the US and Australia.
The Company plans to IPO on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) by mid-2021.
Ms Bader is a geologist and has been a key member of the resources and energy investment team at Acorn Capital in Melbourne for over 10 years.
Ms Bader’s career began over 25 years ago as a project geologist with resource companies and consultants primarily in gold exploration. She holds BSc (Hons), MBA and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).
Ms Lloyd is an advisor to the natural resources sector with 25 years’ of international resources industry experience working with some of the major mining, consulting and investment houses globally.
Ms Lloyd specialises in investment due diligence, independent reporting and mineral asset valuation. She holds BSc (Hons) and MBA and is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (FAusIMM).
Moneghetti Minerals’ Executive Director, Anna Nahajski-Staples, said that while the Company is likely to be the first all-female-led resources company in Australia, that shouldn’t be the headline.
“We selected a board and management team based on merit and expertise to best suit Moneghetti’s gold exploration business model – interest in the Company should be centred around our compelling projects and investment proposition,” detailed Ms Nahajski-Staples.
“We have a top-notch, experienced, well-credentialled team to deliver exceptional value to shareholders and make a positive impact in the junior mining sector with a fresh, enthusiastic approach to our growth initiatives,” she said.
Ms Nahajski-Staples noted that the industry is experiencing a changing of the guards of sorts, which has been apparent with the larger ASX 200 mining companies but hasn’t filtered down much to the junior end.
“Moneghetti Minerals may well be the first of a new wave of junior resource companies – we are definitely not your father’s mining company,” she commented.
“We look forward to launching our ambitious exploration programs and are committed to maintaining best practice in all areas for our shareholders and establishing our own unique mark in the sector.”
