North Stanmore Project solidifies itself as low-cost source of HREs

Victory Metals Limited has today announced the results of its recent metallurgical test work conducted on the North Stanmore Rare Earth Element (REE)Project — situated 10 kilometres north of Cue, Western Australia. The optimised mixed rare earth carbonate metallurgy concentrate from North Stanmore has shown great proportions of dysprosium (Dy) and terbium (Tb), with Dy constituting 73.6 per cent and Tb 10 per cent of the concentrate. Panoramic Resources Limited appointed administrators have determined that operations at the company’s Savannah Nickel Project in the Kimberley region of Western Australia are to be suspended after in-depth discussions with major creditors, key suppliers and other stakeholders. Eagle Mountain Mining Limited has announced further assay results from its recent drilling program at the company’s 80 per cent owned Oracle Ridge Mine Project in Arizona, USA. This week the Innu communities of Uashat mak Mani-utenam and Matimekush-Lac John signed a Reconciliation and Collaboration Agreement with the Iron Ore Company of Canada (IOC). The Pebble Limited Partnership (PLP) is proposing to develop the Pebble copper-­gold­-molybdenum porphyry deposit (Pebble Deposit) in southwest Alaska as an open-pit mine, with associated infrastructure. On 25 November 2020, Pebble Partnership CEO, John Shively, issued a statement regarding the decision by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to deny the Clean Water Act 404 permit for the project. The proposed mine would have been located 100 air miles and 230 river miles from Bristol Bay, the world’s most productive salmon fishery, which generates US$1.5 billion in annual revenue and 14,000 jobs. Hawkstone to complete metallurgical test work for lithium project

USA-focused gold and lithium explorer, Hawkstone Mining Limited has appointed Hazen Research Inc to perform metallurgical test-work on the lithium-mineralised sedimentary material from the Big Sandy Lithium Project, with the goal of producing battery-grade 99 per cent lithium carbonate (Li2CO3). The environmentally-compliant hydrometallurgical process that Hazen will evaluate involves sulphuric acid leaching, purification and production of 99.8 per cent Li2CO3 for lithium-ion batteries used in electric vehicles and generation-scale storage to back up renewable energy production.
