Operations to cease at Savannah Nickel Project

Panoramic Resources Limited appointed administrators have determined that operations at the company’s Savannah Nickel Project in the Kimberley region of Western Australia are to be suspended after in-depth discussions with major creditors, key suppliers and other stakeholders. This decision comes after a recent shipment of approximately 10,000 tonnes of nickel concentrate on 3 January 2024 — however, nickel prices have continued to decrease. As a consequence of this decision, the majority of the c.140 Panoramic staff on-site at the Savannah Nickel Project will face redundancy. Employees with unpaid accrued entitlements are creditors in a voluntary administration of a company with…

Zenith regains full ownership of WA lithium assets

Zenith Minerals Limited has resumed 100 per cent ownership over its two significant lithium projects — the Split Rocks Lithium Project and the Waratah Well Lithium Project — in Western Australia. Zenith Managing Director Michael Clifford said: “Regaining full control of our key lithium assets in Western Australia is a crucial step forward. “Our technical team has made significant progress at both Split Rocks and Waratah Well without drilling this past year, highlighting the untapped potential of these projects. “As we move into an extensive exploration campaign for 2024, our focus remains on strategic growth and the continuous enhancement of…

Junior miner strengthens its Pilbara holdings

There is no doubt the West Australian-based GreenTech Metals Ltd (ASX: GRE) will generate excitement amongst lithium investors at Vertical Events’ approaching 2024 RIU Explorers Conference in Fremantle. This interest will not just come from the recent results of the diamond drilling the company conducted at its wholly-owned Ruth Well project, but also on the work it has carried out at its Osborne joint venture with Artemis Resources Ltd (ASX: ARV), both of which are located in the iron ore hub of WA’s Pilbara. Late last year GRE announced the Northern LCT pegmatite (Kobe), which sits within both Ruth Well…

Arizona Lithium Prairie project boasts 6.3 million tonnes LCE

American sustainable lithium developer Arizona Lithium Ltd has announced that the company’s Prairie Lithium Project’s lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE) resources has increased to 6.3 million tonnes (MT) from 5.7 MT LCE. This increase is primarily attributed to the successful acquisition and resource assessment of newly leased lands, adding an additional 600,000 tonnes of LCE to Prairie's resource base. Approximately 500,000 tonnes are classified as Indicated. The new resource estimate comprises 4.5 MT LCE Indicated and 1.8 MT LCE Inferred. The 6.3 MT of LCE at Prairie now represents a staggering nine years of global LCE consumption based on 2022 figures.…

More lithium pegmatites and high-grade gold identified at Bullabulling project

WA-focused gold and lithium explorer BMG Resources Limited has received and processed all assays from the second drilling program at its wholly-owned Bullabulling project located in the Coolgardie region of the Eastern Goldfields in Western Australia. The next phase of work will include step out drilling at Ubini and Poolmans Wealth, and follow up drilling of additional targets. BMG Resources Managing Director Bruce McCracken said: “At Ubini, BMG confirmed the lithium bearing pegmatites extend for more than 250 metres and remain open along strike. “At Poolmans Wealth, drilling delivered further shallow high-grade gold intercepts. “With a large, strategically located footprint…

Two REE Trends Identified at West Arunta in Western Australia

Mineral exploration company Rincon Resources has announced that the use of portable x-ray fluorescence (pXRF) analysis has been instrumental in identifying two distinct anomalous rare earth element (REE) trends in the Pokali North area within the West Arunta Project in Western Australia. The two significant REE trends are within and near the Tin-Tungsten system at Pokali North and these trends are indicative of a high potential for REE deposits in the area. The Total Rare Earth Element (TREE) results from rock-chip samples include samples KWRK094 (showing 0.48 per cent TREE), KWRK104 (at 0.43 per cent TREE), and KWRK107 (with 0.25…

Pathway to doré for Hualilan gold-silver deposit

Gold exploration company Challenger Gold has announced that the company’s recent metallurgical testwork program at the Hualilan Gold Project in Argentina, conducted in November 2023, has opened new avenues for the processing and profitability of the project. The initial scoping study for the project outlined a process path yielding three primary product streams: an Au-Ag concentrate from bulk flotation, a Zn-Au-Ag concentrate from sequential flotation, and Au-Ag doré from leaching of the flotation tailings-leach (FTL). A significant enhancement was identified late in the study's preparation phase, proposing the conversion of the Au-Ag concentrate into doré through a fine-grind and high-intensity…
